Dear Colleague,

Early May Bank Holiday – HSCB Request for pharmacies to Complete a survey to assess the level of planned Commercial Opening by Pharmacies on Friday 8th May’20

As you are aware the Early May Bank Holiday is on Friday 8th May’20 and community pharmacies are entitled to close that day.

HSCB has confirmed that GP surgeries will not be open on that day and that HSCB are making provisions for Community Pharmacy opening on 8th May based on the Pharmacy Bank Holiday Rota arrangements.

In order for the HSCB to find out which pharmacies (in addition to the 8th May Rota pharmacies) intend to open on Friday 8th May you are asked to complete the survey, for each pharmacy that you operate, at the link below:-

In order to facilitate returns by multiple pharmacy groups HSCB propose to issue a spreadsheet directly to Multiples to aid a composite response, rather than each individual branch having to respond.

Should you require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact the local HSCB office relevant to you, from the listing below.

Dear Colleagues,

Reminder – Requirement for all Pharmacies to Complete Daily HSC SitReps

Thank you to the pharmacy teams who have been completing the HSCB Situation Reports (SitReps) and submitting them to HSCB on a daily basis.

It is important that all pharmacies do this on a daily basis and I would ask that you ensure your pharmacy staff complete this task. It may be useful to set a reminder on the PMR or on your phone. The purpose of the SitReps is to ascertain the daily status of all community pharmacies during the COVID-19 pandemic.  This is reported to the highest level within the Department of Health.

The SitReps can be accessed here: https://consultations.nidirect.gov.uk/hsc-new-models-of-prescribing/cpsitreport/

Your support with this matter would be much appreciated.

Yours sincerely

Dear Colleague

A further COVID-19 testing site at Craigavon MOT Centre is now available for community pharmacy staff, and their household contacts (see attached).

Please note new booking arrangements for the three drive-through test sites.

To book an appointment at one of the three drive-through test sites ( i.e. Belfast SSE Arena, City of Derry Rugby Club or Craigavon MOT Centre):

  1. An email should be sent to NCTP@hscni.net  with the name of the person to be tested, contact number and work location of the pharmacy healthcare worker.
  2. The individual will then be contacted on the number provided to arrange an appointment for testing.
  3. The telephone numbers provided previously for booking should no longer be used.

Testing may also be accessed by contacting the GP practice of the person with symptoms

Please see attached for full details. Going forward, this document will be hosted at: http://www.hscbusiness.hscni.net/services/3124.htm

Dear Colleague,

Reminder for All pharmacies

to i) complete the online HSC SitRep reports daily & ii) ensure the HSC secure email facility is operational within your pharmacy(-ies)

Further to Contractor Update #43 I write in relation to the two above mentioned HSCB requirements on all Community Pharmacies during COVID19.

1: SitRep Reports

Thank you to the pharmacy teams who have been completing the HSCB Situation Reports (SitReps) and submitting them to HSCB on a daily basis.

It is important that all pharmacies do this on a daily basis and I would ask that you ensure your pharmacy staff carry out this requirement daily. The purpose of the SitReps is to ascertain the daily status of all community pharmacies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The SitReps can be accessed here: https://consultations.nidirect.gov.uk/hsc-new-models-of-prescribing/cpsitreport/

2: HSC Secure Email

Can I also remind all pharmacies that secure email is now operational and HSCB are encouraging all pharmacies to use this method of communication, which is particularly crucial at this time. If you are experiencing any difficulties with this please contact Sean Woods Sean.Woods@hscni.net or Tom Coyle Tom.Coyle@hscni.net

Yours sincerely
