S U M M A R Y

  • The Department of Health has confirmed that Community pharmacy staff are a designated healthcare worker group that can avail of COVID vaccination.
  • Appointments with HSC Trusts to provide vaccination for community pharmacy staff will be available to book with immediate effect.
  • The process for booking is via an online booking arrangement for sites in the Western, Northern, Southern and South Eastern Trusts via: https://vaccinations.covid-19.hscni.net/
  • In order to access an appointment, contractors should facilitate staff to book online via the secure HSC link.

Please note the letter states that the pharmacy contractor is responsible for ensuring only their staff are booking onto this system and this link should not be shared beyond the pharmacy.

SUMMARY

  • HSCB have been made aware of a small number of companies supplying medicines/medical supplies into Northern Ireland who are using Delivered at Place (DAP) Incoterms meaning the buyer must complete the import declaration.
  • Import declarations can be raised via TSS free of charge. Contractors will not be reimbursed for any costs paid to independent brokers or third parties for completing import declarations via the usual BSO payment process.

ACTION

Contractors are asked to:

  • Note the contents of the letter; and
  • Advise HSCB via email to the Drug Tariff Co-Ordinator, veranne.lynch@hscni.net of any such issues, and they will endeavour to resolve the situation.

In light of the recent changes in guidance on COVID-19 vaccine dosing intervals, there is now an inaccuracy in the 100 x COVID-19 vaccination guide for adults (12page leaflet) which has been included in the Living Well pack.

A C T I O N

  • Once you have received the affected resource, please DO NOT use the printed 100 x COVID-19 vaccination guide for adults (12pp leaflet). Instead these should be destroyed.
  • The updated version is available online here
  • A new allocation of the updated leaflets will be distributed to your pharmacy towards the end of January 2021.
  • Please use the online version in the interim period.
