Due to current vaccine supply issues, each contractor can only be allocated an initial supply of one box of ten vials – this will provide 80 first doses.
Contractors will be notified when further supplies become available and further orders can be made.
Pharmacists must check that a person is eligible to receive a COVID vaccination. i.e.
aged 18 years and over and
registered with a GP practice in Northern Ireland and
in an eligible cohort as defined by DoH COVID-19 vaccination programme (see Appendix 1).
Full documentation regarding the service can be found HERE.
CPNI will provide further information in relation to the COVID-CPVS on Monday 29 March 2021. Please do not hesitate to contact CPNI offices should you require any additional information at this stage.
Kind regards

Dear Colleague
I write to remind Contractors, who will be providing COVID-19 Community Pharmacy Vaccination Service, that all individuals providing the service must have completed the following with the training requirements.
All individuals providing the service are competent to do so.
All vaccinators complete the COVID-19 vaccinator competency assessment tool. Any training needs identified by the COVID-19 vaccinator competency assessment tool should be addressed. Copies of the assessments should be held in the pharmacy. Additional training and information is available on the PHA website.
All vaccinators complete the e-Learning for Health modules on:Core Knowledge for COVID-19 vaccinators.
COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca
All vaccinators have completed Basic Life Support (BLS) and anaphylaxis training within the last year. This can be undertaken either on-line of face to face.
Staff involved in the provision of this service are advised that they should consider being vaccinated against Hepatitis B and be advised of the risks should they decide not to be vaccinated.
Furthermore, CPNI encourages contractors to contact the following agencies for additional training.
Further to our correspondence on Monday 22 March 2021, CPNI continues to liaise with SimplyBook.Me (SBM) in developing the online COVID-19 vaccination booking system (VBS).
Contractors should have received and returned a contractual agreement to SBM to enable your pharmacy account(s) to be set-up. This was sent to the pharmacy contact email address that you provided to CPNI for use by SBM. If you have not been able to complete and return the contract(s) to SBM please do so at your earliest convenience.
SBM has confirmed that a bespoke vaccination calendar dashboard for each participating pharmacy including; usernames, passwords, a unique URL and training material are being finalised, and these will be sent to all pharmacies within the next 24-48 hours. CPNI appreciates that the turn-around times in relation to SBM and the service launch are very tight, and we would ask you to ensure that the appropriate person within your pharmacy (group) is notified to expect correspondence from SBM and to make you aware of any email correspondence from SBM.
When you receive the username, passwords and the unique URL you will be required to make amendments to the public facing COVID vaccination booking calendar and platform before making the calendar publicly available. This is to tailor and ensure the pharmacy details and COVID vaccination booking appointments reflect your particular pharmacy’s circumstances. To assist you in this CPNI will be providing interactive training and demonstrating the booking platform to Contractors early next week. It is important that you do not make the calendar publicly available until such times that you make the changes to template COVID Vaccination booking system that you will receive from SBM.
We also continue to liaise with HSCB, PHA and DoH(NI) in relation to both the Vaccine Management System and the imminent commencement of the service. CPNI will provide further updates on all these matters to you over the coming days.
Please do not hesitate to contact CPNI offices should you require any additional information at this stage.

Dear Colleague
CPNI continues to liaise with SimplyBook.Me (SBM) in developing the online COVID-19 VBS that can be used by members of the public for booking COVID-19 vaccination appointments from their pharmacy of choice.
Contractors can expect to receive a contractual agreement from SBM within 24 hours and you will be asked to complete and return it to SBM to enable your pharmacy account(s) to be set-up.
This will be sent to the pharmacy contact email address you provided to CPNI last week, for sharing with SBM. I would ask you to ensure that the appropriate person within your pharmacy (group), with responsibility for setting up accounts with suppliers, is notified and made aware of the deadline for return of the contract to SimplyBook.Me after it is issued by SBM.
I appreciate the turn-around times for providing information in relation to SimplyBook.Me are very tight. I would however ask you to prioritise this matter to ensure your vaccine booking system can be developed in advance of the COVID-19 vaccination service commencing next week.
Kind regards
