SUMMARY

  • The upcoming study aims to evaluate patient satisfaction with COVID-19 vaccination delivered via community pharmacy in Northern Ireland by measuring the reasons why patients choose to access vaccination from community pharmacy, patient attitudes to the service across three key quality domains (patient centeredness, professionalism and privacy), and overall satisfaction with the service.
  • The findings will be used to inform service developments and improvements for future vaccination campaigns. Further information on the study is detailed HERE.

CONCERT FOR BELFAST KEYWORKERS

Belfast City Council is hosting a concert on Thursday 25th of August at the Waterfront Hall to confer the Freedom of the City on all Belfast key workers for their contribution to the pandemic response.  The concert will be filmed and broadcast on BBC Northern Ireland in the autumn.  Community teams working in Belfast are invited to submit a photograph of themselves or as a group in their place of work, this will feature as part of a large collage on stage at the concert.

The photograph should be landscape (or portrait if you wish) and should include your head and torso.  You are welcome to hold up a sign with your job title.  Images are required by Monday 15th of August and can be uploaded here.  A privacy notice is also included.

A limited number of complimentary concert tickets have been shared with CPNI for community teams living or working in Belfast.  If you would like a ticket, please contact the CPNI office.

SUMMARY

  • The SPPG is encouraging Community Pharmacy contractors to review their workforce and to expand the vaccinator pool in primary care by training their own staff to be vaccinators, if appropriate.  There are multiple pathways open to completing training as a vaccinator and the training requirements are detailed HERE.
  • Contractors are advised that correspondence has been issued by the Public Health Agency in relation to the training of staff as vaccinators.  This can be accessed HERE on the “Information for Health Professionals” webpage.
  • The Regional Framework for Vaccine Administration by Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) in Northern Ireland (NI) can be accessed HERE.
  • The following dates have been released by the Clinical Education Centre with online booking available HERE.  Programme information is available HERE.
