Community Pharmacy Close Contacts Exemption from Isolation in Exceptional Circumstances
Following the easing of lockdown restrictions in Summer 2021, contractors reported increasing numbers of their staff having to self-isolate due to close contact with positive COVID-19 cases. CPNI brought this to the attention of HSCB and DoH colleagues and relayed the increased pressure this was placing on the already stretched workforce.
Correspondence issued from the Chief Medical Officer in July 2021 advising that fully vaccinated health & social care staff, including pharmacy staff who are told to self-isolate as a close contact, may now be permitted to attend work in exceptional circumstances.
