Diabetes – supporting the delivery of MURs

The Medicines Use Review (MUR) service will soon be extended to patients living with diabetes and NI Centre for Pharmacy Learning and Development (NICPLD) have organised a series of training events to prepare community pharmacists for this development.

Aim

Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this workshop you should be able to:

  • identify the range of drugs used in the management of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  • encourage adherence with medication regimens
  • identify the common side-effects or problems encountered with these drugs
  • intervene as appropriate and suggest resolutions to medication issues
